Meet Evan & Vivian

Evan and Vivian are a warm, down-to-earth couple from Atlanta who have built a life centered on family, friendship, laughter, and meaningful traditions. After ten years together, they continue to be each other’s greatest source of support and are excited about the opportunity to grow their family through surrogacy.

Family plays an important role in their lives. Both sets of parents have been incredibly supportive throughout their journey to parenthood. Vivian’s parents recently moved from California to Georgia to be closer to them, and Evan’s parents regularly visit from New York. They are also fortunate to have a close-knit group of friends, including two friends who have completed their own surrogacy journeys and understand both the challenges and joys that come with the process.

Vivian loves cooking and cherishes the family recipes that have been passed down through generations of her Korean-American family. She enjoys learning from her mother and hopes to one day share those same traditions with a child. Outside the kitchen, she enjoys knitting, practicing yoga, and taking tennis lessons with the goal of eventually beating Evan on the court!

Together, they love exploring Atlanta’s restaurant scene and trying new foods. They especially enjoy Italian food, and no trip to New York is complete without a visit to their favorite pizza place, L&B Spumoni Gardens. Korean food is another favorite, particularly when it is homemade and shared with family. Their love of food reflects their love of gathering people together and creating memories around the table.

Music is another shared passion. Vivian enjoys classical music, jazz, and 90s R&B, while Evan loves 90s hip-hop and folk music. They enjoy attending concerts together and recently saw Vampire Weekend and James Taylor perform live in Atlanta.

Their family would not be complete without Fausto, their seven-year-old French Bulldog. Also known as Tito, Titi, and “Mr. Baby,” Fausto has been part of their family since he was three months old and is adored by everyone around him. In fact, family members often ask about him before asking about Evan and Vivian.

Those who know them would describe them as easygoing, kind, and full of humor. These days, they are just as happy spending a Friday evening at home with pizza and their dog as they are going out. They love making each other laugh, don’t take themselves too seriously, and truly view one another as partners in every sense of the word.

While infertility and the realization that Vivian would not be able to carry a pregnancy have been among the most difficult experiences they have faced, they have navigated every challenge side by side. The journey has strengthened their relationship and deepened their appreciation for the life they have built together.

Evan and Vivian look forward to welcoming a child into a home filled with love, strong family connections, treasured traditions, plenty of laughter, and a community of people who cannot wait to support and celebrate them.

Whether you’re pursuing surrogacy, preparing to carry for someone else, or just navigating unfamiliar terrain, you’re not alone. Called to Carry is a 14-day devotional for women of faith walking through the sacred, complex, and often hidden journey of surrogacy. Get your free copy today.
