Meet Claudia & Nathan

Hi! We’re Claudia and Nathan!

We’ve been married for 13 years, and for most of that time, we’ve known we wanted to be parents. Life asked us to wait, more than once. Now we’re ready to start, and we’re hoping you’re out there, maybe reading this right now.

The first wait came when my parents got sick. Nathan didn’t hesitate. He took my mom to dialysis and physical therapy, cooked her meals, and cared for her at home. I watched the man I married become family to my mom in every sense. That’s the kind of dad he’ll be.

The second wait came when I needed brain surgery. I recovered well, but carrying a pregnancy is no longer safe for me. You wouldn’t just be helping us have a baby; you’d be the reason we get to be parents at all.

Day to day, our life is ordinary in the best way. I’m an educator, and Nathan is a computer programmer who works from home. Nathan is caring and dependable, the kind of person who puts family first without thinking twice. I’m driven and responsible, and family has always been my why.

We’re movie people, music people, and travel people. Some nights that means the theater, other nights it’s a movie at home, and we know animated films are coming soon. We’ve seen Bush and Three Days Grace live, and alternative rock is usually what’s playing at home, though I sneak in plenty of Adele, Taylor Swift, Maná, and Juanes. Nathan doesn’t speak much Spanish, but that hasn’t stopped him from coming with me to Maná concerts. And when we’re not at a show, we’re usually planning our next trip, whether it’s a road trip or a flight to another country. Soon we hope to be exploring as three.

Sundays are for outings with my brothers and our dog, Bart, who treats everyone like an old friend. Back home, our little blue fish, Milhouse, keeps watch. And yes, both are named after The Simpsons.

Our baby will be surrounded by love: a grandma, uncles, and a crew of cousins ready to welcome the newest member of the family.

We know that choosing to become a surrogate takes real courage and generosity, and we would never take that for granted. Whatever relationship feels right to you, whether frequent texts, appointments together, or something quieter, we’ll meet you there. We’re ready whenever you are, and we’ll be grateful to you for the rest of our lives.

Called To Carry

Surrogacy is more than medical. It’s deeply spiritual. And discerning a call to carry (or to let someone carry for you) isn’t always easy. Whether you’re pursuing surrogacy, preparing to carry for someone else, or just navigating unfamiliar terrain, you’re not alone. Called to Carry is a 14-day devotional for women of faith walking through the sacred, complex, and often hidden journey of surrogacy. Get your free copy today.
