Meet Jeanette and Edgar: A Family Filled with Faith, Music, and Adventure
Jeanette and Edgar believe some of life’s best moments happen with family nearby, music playing, and something delicious cooking on the grill. They are an easygoing couple who value communication, thoughtful decision-making, and planning ahead, but they also know how to slow down and enjoy the people they love most.
Married in October 2023, Jeanette and Edgar welcomed their son in January 2025. Becoming parents brought them incredible joy, but his delivery also resulted in a life-altering heart attack for Jeanette. Because carrying another pregnancy would not be safe, they are now pursuing surrogacy with deep gratitude and hope.
As a family, they love being outside together. Gardening, camping, exploring parks, and watching their son discover the world around him are all favorite ways to spend their time. Right now, life is especially full as they focus on raising their son, studying for a national board exam, and continuing their natural IVF journey. Still, they are already looking forward to getting back to camping, traveling, and making new memories together.
Jeanette and Edgar are also enthusiastic food explorers. Mexican restaurants, steakhouses, Asian cuisine, local bars and grills, and favorites like Whiskey Cake, Lazy Dog, Yard House, Lupe Tortilla, and Local Table are all welcome options. They love trying new recipes at home, grilling for family and friends, and exploring all kinds of food. Choosing where to eat may require some thoughtful decision-making, but running out of choices will never be the problem.
Music is a big part of their home, and their playlist has an impressive range. Classical and instrumental music, Christian songs, Broadway, country, reggaeton, bachata, cumbia, merengue, and salsa can all make an appearance throughout the day.
Their Christian faith is the foundation of their family. Jeanette and Edgar believe every life is precious and created by God, and they would not choose to terminate a pregnancy because of Down syndrome, a disability, or a diagnosis considered incompatible with life. Although sharing their faith would be meaningful, it is certainly not a requirement, and they sincerely respect every person’s beliefs.
Their greatest hope is to find a surrogate who feels like a true partner throughout the journey. They would love to attend important appointments whenever possible and stay connected through open and honest communication, whether by text or phone. More than anything, they hope the relationship develops naturally over time, without expectations about how often everyone should meet or communicate.
