Allow us to introduce our Intended Parents Liesl and Brian. They have been married for five years and they want nothing more than to have a baby.
For 3 ½ years, they have attempted to get pregnant and they have gone through 4 IVF cycles due to Liesl having diminished ovarian reserve. Unfortunately, all 4 cycles have failed. In 2019, they received the devastating news that Liesl had lung cancer (even though she does not have a family history and has never been a smoker in her life!). This was the worst day of their lives, and it altered the course of their original plans for creating a family.
Thankfully, Liesl is completely cancer-free now and is in wonderful health. She is on medication, however, that is not conducive to pregnancy, and her physicians have encouraged them to pursue surrogacy to complete their family. Brian and Liesl currently have 7 embryos at an IVF clinic in Dallas, Texas and they are eager to find a gestational carrier that is willing to help them.
Brian and Liesl said, “We want our surrogate to feel as valued as she truly is. We are very much aware of the fact that a lot of people are involved in making our dream of having a child come true, and obviously the surrogate is one of the most important factors in that process.
So, although we wouldn’t want to be overbearing in any way at all, we would like to feel comfortable checking in to see how she is doing and similarly would like her to feel comfortable reaching out to us.” Brian and Liesl desire a close relationship with their gestational carrier during and after the pregnancy. They understand the enormous commitment and sacrifice a surrogate is giving them, and they would be forever grateful.
Liesl and Brian have a huge support system excited and ready to help them through this process. Brian is one of 5, Liesl has a sister, and he and Liesl are both very close with their parents and siblings. In their free time, Liesl and Brian enjoy spending time with family and friends and going to the beach every chance they get.
