Throughout the past year, we’ve had an opportunity to share some remarkable stories about how families are created through surrogacy. And it wouldn’t be possible without you – the incredible women who are part of our Surrogate Solutions community! Our team is truly grateful for each and every one of you and the role you play in helping to make intended parents’ dreams of parenthood a reality.
A few former intended parents (IPs) whose stories we have featured over the past year responded to our request to share an update on their families and how they are spending the holidays. Here’s what they had to say. Joe and Aaron Aaron were born on July 4, 2019. He is now three years of age and a very active and inquisitive boy. I retired from the Department of Justice in 2020, so I spend my time helping my elderly mother and chasing after Aaron. He is very outgoing and loves to play and socialize with other kids. These days are a whirlwind of birthday parties, playdates, and outings. Having Aaron as a single 55-year-old man is one of the best things I have done in my life. I am nearly 60 now and have to try and keep up with Aaron, so I wish I had done this at a younger age!
For the holidays, Aaron and I will get together with my mom, brother, and cousin. We all live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Madison, Matt, and Harlow We are doing great! Harlow is now 15 months old and into EVERYTHING! She is keeping us busy daily, but we wouldn’t want it any other way. Life is completely different now. We aren’t wondering when we will get to be parents every second of our life now. Our focus is on being parents!
This will be our second time going through the holidays with Harlow. We of course have our Santa picture, which is a must. It’s so crazy to see how much she has grown since her first one. We plan to take them every year. Other than pictures, we plan on spending time with our family. As we go, we will create our own traditions with her. Melissa, Greg, and Beckham It seems like in the blink of an eye we went from having a tiny toddler to a big boy. Beckham started his first year at daycare/preschool and has grown so much. His vocabulary, socialization, and developmental skill set has grown by what feels like a million. If you can’t find him playing with his many cars (hello emergency vehicles, construction trucks, and race cars), then you can easily find him on the soccer field or tennis court. He hasn’t met a sport he doesn’t enjoy or a swing he doesn’t want to go “really high” on at the park. Our family feels so full of love and joy experiencing life through Beckham. While we weren’t able to see our surrogate this year, we’re very hopeful Beckham’s first trip to Disney will be a welcome reunion for us all, especially since her family is so keen on the adventure park.
We’ll be staying in the Florida sunshine this year for the holidays, enjoying celebrations with family locally and from out of town. The Elf on the Shelf will be making his first appearance this year. We’re so excited to see how Beckham will react to it. He’s already so interested in Santa, Rudolph, and Frosty the Snowman! One of our favorite holiday traditions is to add an ornament to our tree that is symbolic of the year. This year, Beckham will be getting a fire truck for his ornament. He had a firetruck-themed birthday party, has visited multiple stations, and lets out the biggest squeal of joy when he sees one on the road. The obsession is real!
