Darren and Priyanka are from the Houston area and have been married for almost six years. On their first date, they talked about their future and wanting to raise a family together. They were engaged within six months of that first date, knowing that it was love at first sight. Unfortunately, soon after they were married, Priyanka was hospitalized with a lung clot and spent a week in the ICU. She was eventually diagnosed with a heart condition which required surgery. When her health didn’t improve, further testing showed that she has an autoimmune condition called Sjogren’s. This disease affects her nervous system, and causes fainting episodes, pain, fatigue, and GI issues. Priyanka has spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital due to her medical conditions and is now on multiple medications to help manage her symptoms. Although she has actively worked on her health, her doctors strongly recommend she not get pregnant for her own safety, as well as the baby’s safety. Darren and Priyanka’s only hope to have a biological child of their own is through the gift of surrogacy.
Both Priyanka and Darren come from large families, with whom they are very close. Darren works with his parents and extended family, and they regularly get together for dinner as well. Priyanka’s parents and extended family live in Florida, and they frequently visit each other for small trips, big family gatherings, and “just because.” They love to spoil their nieces and nephews and are usually found playing with the kids at any party. When they are not with family in person, they talk on the phone and FaceTime every day.
At home, Priyanka and Darren prioritize quality time together. They enjoy cooking meals at home, keeping in touch with their Indian culture as well as exploring different cuisines and trying new foods. Although Darren works long hours, they have dinner together every night and brunch together on the weekends. In their free time, Darren and Priyanka like to relax by their pool, visit museums and art galleries, and travel. Darren also enjoys golfing, smoking meats, and maintaining his personal aquarium, while Priyanka enjoys reading, shopping, and baking. After giving up gluten due to her autoimmune condition, she even began operating a gluten free cottage bakery out of their home as a side hobby. Darren and Priyanka loved spending time with their sweet senior dog Squiggy, from going on walks together and cuddling on the couch. Sadly, Squiggy recently passed away of old age, and their hearts were completely broken, as they loved him like a son. Both Darren and Priyanka’s families and friends came to say their last goodbyes and attend his funeral.
Darren and Priyanka’s home feels emptier and quieter than ever. They would love to find a selfless woman who feels called upon to help them create their dream family. They do not desire a transactional relationship but rather a warm, friendly, and communicative friendship that will hopefully grow over the years. They would love to introduce their surrogate to their culture and even have her participate in an Indian baby shower to bless the baby. Ideally, they would like to have another child in a few years and would hope the same surrogate might be interested in carrying for them again
