We live in New York City and we’re ready to be a family of three! Juliet works as a research analyst for a non-profit and previously taught anthropology at the City University of New York. She has also taught research skills to public high school students in NYC. Chris works in business strategy and operations and has a background in foreign policy and international economics. After a baby arrives, Juliet plans to stay home at first and later return to work part-time.
We love being outdoors together. One of the first trips we took as a couple was a camper van trip to Vermont. It was a blast. We also have a long-standing annual camping trip with friends on an island on Lake George, which is the same lake where we got married. Juliet started birding during the pandemic and got Chris into it as well. Now we are proud members of the Brooklyn Bird Club.
Creativity and music are big parts of our home. Juliet enjoys ceramics and knitting, while Chris plays acoustic and bass guitar and paints watercolor. We listen to jazz, rock and roll, and classical music. Our four-year-old rescue cat Luna loves to greet us at the door and curl up on the couch while Chris plays guitar.
We met in New York City in 2022 after matching on Hinge (yes, it actually works!) Our first date at a coffee shop in Brooklyn turned into an hours-long walk through the nearby park, and from that day on we knew we had found someone very special. We got engaged one year later and were married in the Adirondack Mountains in September 2024.
In 2025, through routine testing, Juliet was diagnosed with uterine cancer. Before surgery, we were able to retrieve eggs and create two healthy embryos, a boy and a girl. While Juliet cannot carry a child, we remain hopeful and excited to grow our family.
We are so grateful to the surrogate who will help make our dream of becoming parents possible.
