My husband Dave and I are so excited to begin this journey to grow our family through surrogacy. Here’s a little about us:
I’ve been a veterinarian since graduating in 2017 and am now thrilled to be opening my own clinic with a close friend. Dave transitioned from being a middle school math teacher and cross-country coach to software engineering four years ago and loves his new career, though he misses working with kids.
We’ve been together for almost six years, and our relationship is built on laughter, love, and mutual support. Dave is one of the kindest and most genuine people I know, and he’s been my rock through our challenging fertility journey.
Our fertility journey has been challenging. After being diagnosed with unexplained infertility, we underwent three IUI cycles, all unsuccessful. We moved on to IVF, completing three egg retrievals to create three PGD-normal embryos. Our first embryo transfer implanted successfully, but heartbreakingly, I miscarried just a few weeks later, even though the fetus was genetically normal. After complications from the D&C, I was diagnosed with severe uterine scarring, making it unlikely that I could ever safely carry a pregnancy.
Surrogacy is now our only chance to meet one of the embryos we worked so hard to create, and we are so grateful for this path to parenthood.
We’ve already built a life to welcome a child, including buying a home in a great school district. Our sweet dog, Callie, a rescue Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, adores kids and will be a loving companion to our future little one.
In choosing a surrogate, we value someone physically and emotionally healthy, with a strong support system, and who has had a healthy pregnancy before. While we’d love to develop a close relationship, we’re open to the level of contact she feels comfortable with during and after the pregnancy.
