Dear Potential Surrogate,
First and foremost, thank you for considering this incredible journey of helping a family grow. Our lives have already been enriched beyond words this last year by Lincoln, our first son. We are at the beginning of our sibling journey, and the thought of expanding our family fills us with joy and gratitude. We know that the path to parenthood is not always straightforward, and we deeply appreciate women like you who make it possible for families like ours to bring our child into the world.
Family is the heart of everything we do. We both grew up in large, close-knit families, and we always knew that having children of our own would be part of our future. Our Lincoln, a wonderful big brother in the making, is eagerly awaiting a sibling. This baby will be welcomed with open arms, not only by us but also by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who can’t wait to be part of their life.
A little bit about us—James works in finance for a major energy company, and Brandon is an oncologist at a university hospital. We both love what we do and are likely to stay with our current employers for the foreseeable future. Outside of work, we share a love for great food and travel, often planning our trips around unique dining experiences. In his first year, Lincoln joined us for five trips, and look forward to continuing to explore the world with him, and his future sibling.
James is an accomplished violinist and a member of Houston Symphony North, and we have been Houston Symphony subscribers since moving here in 2016. Brandon enjoys classic rock and never misses an opportunity to introduce James to some of his favorite bands.
We believe that the pregnancy journey is the beginning of our child’s story, and we hope to be involved in the key healthcare moments—doctor visits, ultrasounds, and, of course, at the delivery. We would love to stay connected through weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, but we fully respect your personal comfort and privacy in this process. After delivery, we see this as much more than just a transaction; we would love to maintain a connection, sharing updates and milestones if you’re open to it.
Support is incredibly important to us, and we are fortunate to have a strong foundation of family and friends who are cheering us on. While our families do not live in Texas, they are very involved in our lives, and we have a close circle of friends who will be by our side throughout this journey.
The qualities we value most in a surrogate are health, trustworthiness, kindness, and open communication. We want to ensure that our child understands how special they are and the incredible journey that brought them into the world.
