While Valentine’s Day is about romance, Galentine’s Day is a special day devoted to female friendships. Celebrated on February 13th, Galentine’s Day was first introduced in 2010 on the popular TV show Parks and Recreation by character Leslie Knope (portrayed by Amy Poehler). Although not an official holiday, a day dedicated to spending time with your favorite gal pals is definitely one worth celebrating!

Just Google Galentine’s Day and you’ll find plenty of articles, websites, Pinterest boards and other social posts offering ideas for how to spend the day with your friends. Here are 10 of our favorites:

At EDS, egg donors earn $9,000 to $14,000 per cycle and can complete up to six donation cycles (per the guidelines established by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine). Donors are between the ages of 21-28 and must meet certain criteria, such as having a regular monthly cycle, a BMI between 21-28, must be a college graduate or pursing a college degree, and must be able to provide a detailed personal and family health history. Travel opportunities
Donors who are willing to go outside their city or state to complete a donation cycle often have the opportunity to travel. In addition, a donor who is open to travel will typically have more intended parents interested in her profile than women who are only available to donate locally.
When you travel for a cycle, you are able to bring a companion along to provide support before, during and after the egg retrieval. All expenses are paid, and your EDS Care Coordinator will handle all the travel arrangements. Oftentimes donors will choose to bring a friend and make it a girls’ trip.
