Chelsey, a devoted mom of five children between the ages of two and nine, has a deep passion for helping intended parents build their families. Her journey in third-party reproduction began when she became a surrogate in 2020.
With a heart for giving, Chelsey felt inspired to take another step in helping families by becoming an egg donor.
“I love being a mom, and my motto has always been: if you can, you should.”
Chelsey was matched with a couple in Florida which allowed her to travel from her home in Arizona to Tampa for her egg retrieval. Accompanied by her best friend, Marissa, she turned the 10-day trip into a memorable experience.
“Traveling for the egg retrieval allowed Marissa, who has three kids of her own, and me to take a fun girls’ trip without the kids,” Chelsey recalls. “We went to the beach, explored Universal CityWalk, got massages and manicures, and enjoyed ice cream sundaes in our PJs at the hotel. We didn’t want to leave!”
Wanting to educate others about the egg donation process, Chelsey documented her experience in a video, which she later shared on social media.
“There is such a need for egg donors, and I wanted to create an informative video to start conversations and allow people to ask questions,” Chelsey explains.
“A video felt more impactful than just posting about what I was doing.”
The response was immediate. Several friends reached out to learn more about her journey, showing a growing curiosity and interest in egg donation.
Chelsey’s video also captured the process of administering hormone injections to stimulate follicle growth, which she admits was the most challenging part.
“I had to be mindful of the injection schedule and ensure I had my medications on hand, even when on the go,” she shares. “But considering the end result, it was a small challenge in the grand scheme of things.”
That effort paid off tremendously—Chelsey’s retrieval resulted in 37 eggs, leading to a successful transfer for the intended parents.
“The best part was hearing that the intended mother was pregnant,” Chelsey says. Inspired by the experience, she plans to donate again to help more families achieve their dreams of parenthood.
Reflecting on her journey, Chelsey is grateful for the support she received from Egg Donor & Surrogate Solutions.
“It was a great experience, and the team made everything so easy,” she says. “Kallie, my coordinator, was on top of everything, ensuring smooth communication and flawless travel arrangements.”
When asked what advice she would give to women considering egg donation, Chelsey shares a simple yet powerful message:
“If you’re hesitant, just go for it! It’s an incredible gift. There are families out there who are waiting for someone just like you.”
