For years, Lacey and Dan have wanted nothing more than to give their daughter a sibling but unfortunately, they have experienced loss at every turn. After a year of trying to conceive, Lacey was able to get pregnant naturally and carry their daughter full term. It was after that that the challenges began. After two early miscarriages, Lacey and Dan sought the help of a reproductive endocrinologist, and she discovered that Lacey has a very rare genetic condition that gave them a 1 out of 8 chance of having a healthy embryo. They started IVF right away so they could do genetic testing on their embryos, and they were able to get three healthy embryos (all girls!!).
Lacey and Dan transferred one of the embryos to Lacey, which she carried for 16 weeks, only to discover at her OB appointment their little girl did not have a heartbeat. Tragedy struck again after the second embryo was transferred and the baby’s growth and heartbeat stopped at 16 weeks. Lacey and Dan have one PGS-tested embryo left (and are hoping to have more after Lacey’s next retrieval). They cannot fathom the fact of not giving their little baby a chance at life, even though they know Lacey’s body can likely not be the vessel that supports her. Dan and Lacey believe surrogacy is an amazingly beautiful thing and they are in awe of the fact that women would be so generous to give the gift of life to babies who might not otherwise have a chance at it. They are 100% confident that surrogacy is the best option for their family.
Dan and Lacey live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and they have been married for six years. They enjoy travelling and spending time with their family and friends. Lacey never turns down a good burger and fries, while Dan enjoys fresh seafood, sushi, and steaks. Both are suckers for a good “feel good” rom-com, and they also love interesting documentaries.
