Are you a woman of faith exploring surrogacy? This message may be for you.
God’s miracles often come through people.
Through medicine.
Through courage.
Through the women who respond to a call to love their neighbor . . . even the tiniest ones.
And whether that looks like carrying a child, becoming a parent through surrogacy, or walking alongside someone who is, it’s all part of God’s creative work.
So if you’re discerning your next step… if you’re praying about what family might look like for you…take heart in this: Sometimes God answers a prayer with a person.
If you’re wondering if God might be calling you to carry, you’re invited you to explore Egg Donor & Surrogate Solutions very first publication, Called to Carry. This 14-day devotional journal was written for those navigating faith, family, and fertility — and for anyone learning to see God’s hand in unexpected places.
Because when we share these stories, we remember:
Faith and science were never enemies. They are both ways to help us see, know and participate with a loving Creator who is already at work.

There’s just something about “new” that we love. The smell of a new car, the thrill of a new job, or that little spark of joy when an Amazon package lands on the porch, new things just hit different. Sometimes, we’ll trade in something old that works just fine just because we want the latest version (looking at you, iPhone users). And listen, no judgment, I get it. Most of the time, I’m a big fan of “new.”
But “new” also has a dark side, doesn’t it? The excitement wears off, and suddenly, anxiety sneaks in. What once sounded fun now feels terrifying. The unknown can feel overwhelming, and if you’re in a season of new territory right now, you know exactly what I mean. Maybe for you, “new” looks like:
Exploring surrogacy for the first time. Thinking about becoming a Surrogate. Wrestling with needing a Surrogate. Figuring out how to tell your family about this journey.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the waste/and” (Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV).
The Israelites were in exile in truly unfamiliar territory. Ripped from their homes, living under foreign rulers, they were surrounded by a culture that didn’t feel like their own. Whatever good life they had before? Gone. Whatever hope they had for the future? Questionable at best. Their “new” was not the kind of new they wanted. But in the middle of all that uncertainty, God shows up and says, “I am doing a new thing.”
In all of their chaos and insecurity, God reminds them, “New isn’t bad. Unknown isn’t awful. In fact, ‘new’ is my specialty!”
Like so many parts of life, the newness and unknown-ness of this journey can make us assume God isn’t in it. That He’s distant from anything new. That He wouldn’t or couldn’t be working in ways we haven’t seen before. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. God is always leading us somewhere new. That’s kind of His thing. And He doesn’t just lead, He provides. He makes a way in the wilderness. He creates streams in the wasteland. He creates the path forward even when we can’t see it yet. He is not nervous. He is not anxiously fretting. He is not timidly leading. No, the God who was there at the very beginning of Creation is still doing new things and always will.
If you’re standing on the edge of something new today, feeling unsure, feeling unsteady, let me encourage you with this: New territory. Same God.
He is as steady and sure as He has always been. He is as present as He has always been. He is as trustworthy as He has always been.
Take a moment. Write down where you feel Him leading you into something new. And when the fear creeps in, when you’re tempted to cling to the past, practice saying this to yourself:
New territory. Same God.
He’s got you. Let Him lead.
