We’re Jared and Nancy, a couple from Chattanooga, Tennessee, dreaming of growing our family and giving our sweet two-year-old son, Jackson, a sibling to share life’s adventures with. Our journey to this moment hasn’t been what we expected, but we are grateful for what it has given us. Nancy’s pregnancy was complicated by preterm labor and an unusual pregnancy related retinopathy, which has led us to seek out a surrogate. We want to tell you a bit about who we are, what we hope for, and why we think this journey could be as meaningful for you as it will be for us.Â
We’re a family that loves life’s big and small moments. Picture us hiking the Fiery Gizzard Trail near our home, marveling at waterfalls and streams that make our souls sing, or out on our boat on Chattanooga’s lake, where Jackson is already showing signs of becoming Jared’s little “first mate.” We’re the kind of people who find joy in both the exhilarating, like scuba diving with manta rays or snorkeling alongside whale sharks, as well as the simple, like gardening, playing board games with friends, or laughing over a silly horror-comedy movie like Dale and Tucker vs. Evil. Our home is filled with love, laughter, and the purrs of our three cats, Lola, Buster, and Pepper, who are as much a part of our family as Jackson is. Buster and Pepper were born at our house and think they’re Jackson’s siblings, curling up with him or playfully dodging his toddler energy!Â
We ideally imagine this surrogacy journey as a shared adventure, one where we can build a genuine connection with you. We’d love to stay in touch through texts, calls, video chats, or even in-person visits to celebrate milestones together, whether it’s feeling the first kicks or sharing a laugh over a craving-induced snack run. We hope for a relationship that feels natural, warm, and full of camaraderie, with more joys than challenges (though we’re ready to support each other through both). If a friendship blossoms, we’d be thrilled to keep in touch beyond the pregnancy, maybe sharing a funny story about Jackson’s latest antics, a photo of our child’s first steps, or even celebrating life’s bigger moments together, like a graduation or a family milestone. But we also respect your journey and understand if you feel your role is complete after delivery. Whatever feels right for you, we’d love to occasionally share updates about the little one you helped bring into our lives, so you always know the incredible impact you’ve had.Â
Our family is surrounded by love and support. Jackson has two sets of doting grandparents, three uncles and their wives, and a tight-knit circle of friends, some so close we call them family. Our fertility clinic, which guided us through our IVF journey, is exceptional, and we’re part of surrogacy support groups on Facebook, so you’ll never feel alone in this process. Â
As parents, we’re committed to raising our children to be kind, grateful, and resilient. We want them to know their story, how loved and wanted they were, and how a remarkable person helped bring them into the world. Jared, a radiologist, and I, a per diem physical therapist with a flexible schedule, are ready to provide a nurturing, stable home filled with adventure and warmth. Our hobbies include hiking, boating, scuba diving, geocaching, or even just enjoying a spicy meal at a new restaurant, which reflect our love for exploring the world and sharing it with those we care about. We can’t wait to share these passions with our children, from teaching them to ski to showing them the wonders of a coral reef.Â
This journey is about more than growing our family, it’s about connection, trust, and creating something beautiful together. We believe that life’s unexpected paths often lead to the most meaningful moments, and we’re excited to see where this one takes us. If you feel called to be part of our story, to help us give Jackson a sibling and make our family whole, we’d be honored to walk this path with you. Thank you for considering being our partner in this incredible adventure.Â
